Sky replacement slow lag

The sky replacement tool is painfully slow in Photoshop. When I'm loading the images, selecting sky and generally browsing the tool is hopelessly slow. Everything else is lightning fast across PS and the whole machine, just this one tool is slow.

Brand new MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020), Apple M1, 8GB, running PS 22.2 (latest version).

Do you have a fast internet connection? I recently heard that when PS accesses the Sky Replacement, it sends and receives data to and from the cloud. This may be causing your lag.
