We have extremely slow internet in Durban South Africa as a result of the Easter weekend. As a result most of the day Creative cloud said "cannot reach Adobe servers". As a result everything in Photoshop was purposefully 10 times slower as a result how can Adobe write such crippleware?
Absolutely useless that a paying customer has to be slowed down from WORKING because suddenly your stupid Creative Cloud can't continually authenticate and now thinks I'm a pirate. Bleghhhh Adobe 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Adobe Photoshop does not run in the cloud.
Your slow internet connection could affect it if you have plugins that require an internet connection.
You can disable plugins when starting up by holding the Shift key went launching.
It will ask if you want to disable plugins.
If you are opening files from Adobe Cloud or Creative Cloud, transfer them to local instead while you are experiencing internet connection issues.
As for "cannot reach Adobe servers" - that would be caused by your internet connection on your end.
Once you fully authenticate it should not ask again for at least 90 days.

Was only working on local files as I do every day, also no plugins that need internet either. Was working fine early this morning until the moment CC said it could not reach Adobe servers.

Did you try starting up without plugins?
You can always check the status of Adobe servers at
Unfortunately as you stated, its a local internet issue.
That would not affect Photoshop directly unless there was something tying it to the internet actively.
Authentication is not an active connection. It's one and done.

As Kevin says, Photoshop only connects once every 30 days, to verify your subscription. It doesn't require any internet connection at all between those intervals.

Yesterday must have been my lucky day then.
Surely if I have paid for a year subscription there should be NO need for 30 day checks.

The system still checks every 90 days for details to prevent piracy.
If you had a stable internet connection, you would have never noticed and would have kept on business as usual.
