smart object lost red eye and spot removal tools

Hi, has anyone else's smart objects become not so smart?? I have just opened mine for the first time since the update, and went to edit an image using smart object, and the whole row of tools along the top, such as red eye removal, heal, and spot removal etc, have GONE...... I have navigated around the new and in my view totally messy new page and nope..... they all seem to be deemed not necessary!!

Can anyone shed any light onto my totally ruined day
