Smear tool is taking half an hour to finish

Hi everyone,

 I don’t know if other people are having this problem, but my smear tool is taking ages to finish a single stroke and it worked just fine on my last project. This is on my new MacBook Pro on the macOS Big Sur 11.4 update and I’m on the Photoshop program with the v 22.4.1 update. Please tell me if there’s a way to fix this lag problem.
