Spot Healing Brush

For some reason my spot healing brush has stopped working. It paints black and then nothing happens, I am left with black dots wherever I paint.

Are you in the right layer/channel? Are you in a Layer Mask?
Check brush settings including blending mode of the brush.
Do you need to Sample All Layers? Are you healing form all layers or trying to heal the layer you are on?
What are your hardware settings? (If on an M1 chipp try turning GPU off)

Please show a sample/image image if possible where we can also see layers and brush settings.
