System Requirements

Hello! Can someone dumb it down for me (I mean REALLY dumb it down) about system requirements, please? I subscribed to Photoshop as it is a required program for some mock up templates I want to use but when I went to download I got a message or something to update my system requirements... huh?!

Does this mean my lap top is out of date for Photoshop or is it just not a 'good enough' computer and I need to buy another if I want to use photoshop? It's a Macintosh HD OS X... or at least that is what it says in System Preferences. I thought it was a Mac Book Pro. Knowing my cheap ass, I probably got the most basic options available given when I bought this lap top so many years ago (in 2015 I think?) I had zero intentions for it other than to use Microsoft Office and light surfing online.

Thanks for the advice... I appreciate the help. I am hopeless, haha.

Hi

More than likely the version of the operating system is not compatible with the most recent versions of Photoshop, you can find out which OS version you have, take a look here

https://support.apple.com/en-ie/HT201260

Photoshop 2020 requires macOS version 10.13 (High Sierra), macOS version 10.14 (Mojave), macOS version 10.15 (Catalina)

You should be able to update the OS version

Ged Traynor, you are a genius! Thank you so much! I followed your link and was able to determine that I was running El Capitan so I upgraded to Catalina... problem solved!

The upgrade seemed to mess up my Microsoft programs though... I had to upgrade to 360 or whatever it is but I don't think I fully got that sorted yet. Will figure it out tomorrow... too much technology for me today, haha.

Thank you again... I appreciate your help!!!
