Technical problem - Type Tool appears to freeze and I can't select text in Photoshop

On an install of Photoshop (latest version), my type tool is freezing badly. I can't seem to select text and typing any text is sluggish in performance. Changing fonts is also sluggish. I can easily use most other tools and complex operations (such as Liquify filters). I can cancel or confirm the type changes and it creates its layer normally and I can transform or move the layer. Other software like Illustrator and InDesign is not causing problems.

Steps of troubleshooting done so far:

- Deleted key folders in my AppData folder that removed the Font Cache

- Deleted outdated preference folders of Photoshop

- Uninstalled and Reinstalled Photoshop (retained preferences folders)

Any steps of recommended troubleshooting are appreciated.

Hi, Sorry about that sometimes if you reset the preferences is the solution

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html

or you can install another version of Photoshop from the CC app and then you can see if the version is the problem
