Tifs saved in older versions of Photoshop not opening in new versions

I'm having an issue with Photoshop not recognising .tif files, saved from older versions of Photoshop.

 

Anyone else had similar issues, know any fixes? Besides going back to old Photoshop versions.

I don't know if this will work, but try changing the file extension to .JPG or to .PSD and then try opening it.
