Time to update the minimum required specs?

I'm not sure how 8Gb is still listed under the minimum required specs for running photoshop. With the system overhead, as soon as photoshop is opened the RAM usage jumps past 7Gb, and that only if you leave it idle. Someone can realistically get 15 minutes of good usage before they start experiencing difficulties with freezing and crashing.

If you don't update this sheet, organizations like schools and universities build underspec'd machines and don't understand when the students get frustrated.

16Gb is system minimum these days.

This is a user Forum, so you are not really addressing Adobe here, even though some Adobe employees thankfully have been dropping by.

Actually RAM isn't all that important. The critical component in this equation is the scratch disk, and this is undercommunicated.

It's mentioned in the sysreqs, but only briefly and in passing. It should be spelled out clearly. Of course more RAM will speed it up a bit, but with a fast scratch disk like an NVMe, the practical difference is small and nothing will crash even with 8GB RAM.
