I've tried all the nomral methods (switching to Essentials, customizing the tool bar, etc, but the rectangular marquee and the paint fill are missing, as are all the underlying tools normally found in the Photography tool bar.  Happened to my partner's PS too, but magically reappeared.  What's up?

Hi

Assuming you're referring to Photoshop, try going to Edit > Toolbar and select restore defaults.

Thread moved to the Photoshop forum.

If that doesn't help try a preference reset.
