Tools Panel missing in Photoshop CS6 for Mac

I have been using Photoshop CS6 for Mac for about 6 mths. now.  When I opened it yesterday to work on some photos, I noticed that my tools panel that is always located on the left side of my screen had disappeared.  I have been unable to locate it anywhere.  Also, the top of my photoshop page looks different.  Any assistance that I could get would be greatly appreciated.

Could you please post a screenshot to illustrate the issue?

Check out

Window > Tools

and you could try changing the Workspace under

Window > Workspace > …
