Trash can, new layer and other icons missing from Layers panel

In PS CC some of the icons are missing in the layers panel. See attached screen shot. This is on a Windows 10 OS, Adobe Photoshop Version: 21.1.3 20200508.r.190 2020/05/08: 73760933ad5 x64. Can someone please help me find these icons? It's very irritating not having them. Thanks!

The "X" to close the panel is also missing. Go to Prefs > General > Reset Preferences on Quit. Back up any customization first, such as actions, swatches, etc.
