Trouble with pen tool

Hi guys! I hope somebody can help me.  My problem is that the highlighted path ceated with pen tool does not take final shape because I cannot assign colors and stroke.  I saw that some version of photoshop has been a problem for some,  is this the case for me.  I use version 22.3

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Paths, Options Bar, …) visible and the Direct Selection Tool (A) selected? 

Plain Paths (as only listed in the Paths Panel) have no Fill and no Stroke, Shape Layers can have them (their Vector Masks becoming visible in the Paths Panel with the extension » Shape Path« when the Layer is selected)
