Hi guys new to photoshop, trying out tutorials, trying out masks and layers, tutorial with the big blue pencil. Everything is going fine untill it comes to using the brush, the brush will not paint to hide or reveale, any help would be appreciated. Thanks Max.

Reset the Brush tool. Right-click the Brush tool in the options bar (not Tools panel) and Reset tool.
