Hello,

i have a problem while saving a multi layer PSD in a single layer format.

If i save as jpg, over another file with the same name, photoshop asks me if i want to overwrite it.

i say "yes overwrite", and i get a new jpg with "copy" at the end of the name.

I know i have to save as copy while going to a single layer format, but if the software asks to overwrite, it should overwrite, not save another file: this generates mess in the file management, and i need to update files in order to have them updated in other applications.

I tried export as but is very slow as it has to generate a preview of the flattened file.

i can't be slowed down by this.

it was different before, i don't understand the point in changing that.

Any help appreciated please

Thank you

Please tell us about your operating system. This sounds like a problem at the OS level, since file management and naming are really just a program passing off information to the OS.
