Using the invert color and thresholding feature together

Hello:

I am using the invert color and then the thresholding feature on a tif file in photoshop. When I see the preview after thresholding, it shows a light-colored view where I can distinguish the features well. However, when I press okay, the color densifies and appears closer to its real-life view, taking away the advantage of thresholding. Can anyone please let me know how I can obtain and the exact view that I see in preview.

Thanks for your help!

I'm seeing no change. Can you post screen shots showing the difference?

What about Layers? Blend Modes?!
Would you provide a screenshot for this and for the Layers Panel?!
