I tried to demonstrate clipping paths in the latest version of Photoshop and to my chagrin, nothing happened. Have paths been eliminated?

There is a bug in 22.3. If you have a work path and save it, then you can draw other paths. Otherwise, revert to 22.2 in the CC app. See this thread on the feedback forum:
