What Photoshop product do I need?

I am deep into 3D imagery and now want to move over to digital stereography and am looking for a product(s) that allows me to define the distance in a 2D image from its photographer to nearby, middle and distant objects so that a 3D image or depth-map can be created.  My biggest problem is that I am a retired  pensioner and need to keep the costs way down.  Have you any recommendations for me please?

Maybe After Effects might be a more suitable application.

I agree. After Effect would be better than Photoshop for this. You have more control and better 3D options.
