Photoshop has it own Scripting Plug-in. Photoshop would not use JavaSE6 on Windows 10. I would think it would be the same on a Mac.

The installer should know where it Java goes when you you run it. You shouldn't have to set a directory. https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1359?locale=en_US
