Why does PS continuously have so many flaws?

A couple of hours ago, I spent an hour with an Adobe rep who was kind enough to help me reinstall CC remotely, as the whole application could not connect to the server for some reason. Now I can't create a new document and it seems many others can't either. I dont want to become a software engineer, I just want to edit  photos. I'm genuinely starting to consider new software as this is truly frustrating and unnecesary. Rant over.
