Why Is there Colour Difference On Image in Photoshop vs Saving As A PDF?

Hi

I am new to Ps but I have discovered that after editing a scanned piece of my art, the printed image colour was vastly different to that shown on my laptop.

However, when I saved it as a PDF, then printed it, the colours were pretty spot on.

I wondered why this would be the case?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

What is the image’s Color Space (please don’t say »RGB« or »CMYK«)?

What were the print settings when printing it directly?

What were the pdf settings when creating the pdf and the print settings when printing the pdf?

Colour management can seem complex, but is a gift to image makers once understood.

The monitor display system needs an accurate ICC profile, as does the output system (printer?).

Having a good ICC profile for scanner or camera can help a lot too.

That way an accurate ICC to ICC conversion can be made when printing - preserving image appearance within the gamut limitations of the output device.

I hope this helps
