Why isn't there a similar "Fit to comp" function in Photoshop like After Effects

I didn't find a way or a shortcut to fit a layer in photoshop to the canvas.

Hi in latest version of Photoshop you also have frame options you can use them or File place embedded as told already...Regards

it will try to autofit but your picture could be a shape that doesn't really work in the frame you have i.e, a square image with a rectangular frame so you have the option to adjust things before pressing [enter]... in any event that is the correct answer and the correct workflow so I marked it so
