I seem to be having an issue with Lr & Ps since the latest Windows 10 update that was done on 11/30/17. Everything seems to be lagging when making adjustments. I built a photo editing pc 10 months ago & Lr & Ps worked great. I was breezing through editing like nothing. Anyone have the latest on what's being done? Anything I can do? I hate it when Windows hijacks my pc like this. Has anyone tried deleting any bloatware to see if this corrects the problem and if so which programs? I would hate to delete something that is tied to some operating function of my pc. Any help would be appreciated....Thanks Jerry
I do not install Lightroom at all. I'm sorry to say I can not add any more info on you problem. Have you tried resetting your Photoshop Settings and tools to see it that helps. Currently I have the latest Windows 10 and all updates install.
I have onle three version of Photoshop Creative cloud installed. CS6, CC 2014 which is my preferred version and CC 2018. All perform w little different from each other. Some operation behave some what differently and for and operation like transform rotati

Hi Jerry
Small consolation I know , but I have LR Classic And Photoshop working fine here with the latest Windows update . So it will work if we can get to the bottom of the problem.
Can you post your system info from Photoshop >Help >System info.
Also if you run the resource monitor from Windows Task Manager - does that show any app or process that is hogging your CPU?

Thanks for your help Dave, see screen shots below. I don't see any problem with cpu usage. Below are copies of my Photoshop System Info & my pc build specs. Glad to hear yours is working ok. I have not downloaded any new programs at all that might interfere with running programs. Last email we discussed JPEGmini for reducing file sizes, you mentioned doing it in Lr & it worked great. I uninstalled JPEGmini before the update & all was working fine, then after the update is when it took a dump. So JPEG mini can be ruled out at this point. Maybe I should check and see whats running under programs.
Jerry

Hi
Task manager shows that something is using 15% of your CPU but it isn't the three apps that are shown.
Are you able to scroll down and find out what is using your CPU time?

Here are 2 more screen shots, I scrolled down the whole column, I didn't think that percentage 15% was that much (Learning as I go) to make a difference, most are 0% or .1% to .5%, not much running really, except for the Graphics Card at 4%, which is understandable, I am using the pc & its running. Service Host: Windows Management Instrumentation seems to be the hog here at 10%.

Hi
I just checked on mine:
The first, MSI_ActiveX process is not loaded
The second Windows Management Instrumentation service is loaded but taking no CPU time.
I am no expert when it comes to Windows processes/services so will include JJMack to see if he can advise.

Alright. My MSI wanted to do a new update the other day & when I clicked install it acted a little funny but I didn't think it updated, did not act like it usually does when I installed updates.
I hope JJMack can help out & not go to technical on me, at times people who are knowledgeable don't break it down when asking you to perform tasks or looking for things on your pc, keep it simple please. I am available most of the day but have to get ready to leave around 4 pm. Heading out for the office Xmas party, rather stay home its raining here & turning cold tonight but have to make an appearance.
I guess he's going to contact me at some point instead of you. Thanks for all your help, I'll be in touch.

Some operation behave some what differently and for and operation like transform rotating a layer with a linked layer mask I see CC 2014 performing much poorer then CS6 and CC 2018. It would be better if you can identify where you see the annoying lag stating "Everything seems to be lagging when making adjustments." There are so many adjustment the you can make. Lightroom Develop module ACR in Photoshop and Photoshop adjustment filters and plug-ins. All lag the same or different. Some adjustments can be compute intensive. The Task manager captures you post indicated your machine is not being overtaxed. If there is a large lagging performance problem there may be some contention for something that is being interlocked.

Most of the problem seems to be in Lr, sliders did have a delay but it seems to have stopped, interesting, over the last couple days the delay was present, however when you move ANY of the sliders in the develop module the image has a jerky movement to it as the color, temp, whites, blacks, shadows, etc....is being applied. It use to be fluid, no jerky movement, nice and smooth transition as the slider moves + or - . This does not occur in Ps, it have the same problem but not as severe. Now it seems to be ok, very strange. I am perplexed as to why my Service Host: Windows Management Instrumentation is running at 9% to 12% all the time. Dave's said his is taking no CPU time, but mine is, any thoughts as to why?
A few months ago my Corsair radiator stop working & my core package temp was running at around 35-40C, I realize that's not terrible but still should be lower, like around what it was prior, 25-29C. This is looking at my Corsair Link that monitors everything. After I changed out the radiator is went back down to 25-29C. Now its back up to 38-40C running at 13-15% load, which makes sense because the Service Host: Windows Management Instrumentation is running at 9-10% & my MSI_ActiveX_Service (32 bit) is running at 3.8-4.8%. Adds up to 15% CPU load.
I am not as computer savvy as you are & as for Ps I'm still in the learning stages but getting by being self taught. I don't know how to reset my Ps settings & tools, besides now my problems seems to be in Lr only for the moment.
Also you sent me what appears to be a Windows 10 Pro link that I can click on, is this a link to Windows 10 Pro for me to upgrade or information about for me to read? Please advise. I have Windows 10 Home, if it is a link not sure how to do this, I would need to get with a computer guy to help me. Right now I am slammed with work & need my pc so I can't be screwing around with it to much right now. I have 4 properties to shoot this week & cannot be down due to something I did or inadvertently did. I am just going to have to work around my issue right now. Granted it's not terrible but I built this pc to avoid situations like this & its been working flawlessly up until the upgrade.
Please let me know your thoughts, see screen shots- Jerry

After dealing with this issue for a number of days Windows 10 (Home) did a 2 minute update & it corrected my problem. Hope this helps anyone on the forum with a similar issue, read quite a few. Core Package running around 24C & CPU load is 1-2%. Back in business.
