Hi,

From the beginning of the 3D, there is always a war between 3D software and the coice of Y/Z orientation.

from Architects to Mechanical engineer. the one look a plan of a building from the Top so Z is up, and the other look an object from the front view with the Y is up...

So it's quite usual in any 3D software to define if by default you prefer working with Y or Z axis as the vertical axis meaning Normal to the ground...

Could we have this option in PS  (and DN) in 3D preferences? or at least in the open file window?

Many Thansk

"Blender is widely used for 3D, but I don't know if it has that option or not." Blender is Z up and fixed that way, but when importing or exporting a model you can choose the orientation of the import/export so that it is converted to the chosen orientation.   There is no current option in Photoshop to alter the axis configuration, so would need a feature request   Dave

This is a user-to-user forum and we are volunteers who do not work for Adobe. You might ask the product developers for this feature request here:

https://feedback.photoshop.com/

As an aside, though, very little development is being done in 3D for Photoshop.

Blender is widely used for 3D, but I don't know if it has that option or not. I'll tag our 3D expert @davescm who can better answer.
