I have an open source app that I'd like to impliment this outdated postscript file into. I'm trying to convert ps to hpgl. It uses rgb color only and I'd like it use use rgb OR cmyk based on the .ps file. Also fill with lines maybe?
I can email the small file if need can't seem to find the "attach" feature here?
Any advice would be appreciated.

I would be happy to look at your PostScript file.
Send me an e-mail if you can't attach it to the forum.
Make sure the filename extension is allowed by the forum, if it isn't then change it to an allowed one.
After I have seen the PostScript file, I will probably have some questions about the open source applications method of translating it to HPGL, so you could attach the source of the app as well.

I've attached the file
It's has rgb color support but it should have also cmyk. Not sure if
fills are supported by ps ver3 with lines as a fill pattern? PDF would
be great even if it was another file as in pdf2hpgl.ps. It is very old
and probably not taking advantage of newer features in a more modern
postscript version.
Here is my way of launching the conversion process..
cat $HOME/bin/ps2hpgl.ps $HOME/hpgl-hot-folder/*.ps | /usr/bin/gs -q
-dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -dNODISPLAY - > $HOME/hpgl-hot-folder/temp.plt
of course filenames and locations are specific to me....
Thanks and if it turns out to be a big task I have no problem sending
you a few dollars for your trouble.

Gary,
Still no attachment, at least not that I can see.
In the snippet you included in your reply:
"cat $HOME/bin/ps2hpgl.ps..."
If ps2hpgl.ps is the application, shouldn't it be an executable like ps2hpgl.exe or a script like ps2hpgl.pl, or was that a typo in your post.
You should e-mail me the PostScript file you want to convert and skip trying to attach it to your post for now.

The forms at adobe seem to be in rough shape today! I can't even get
into the forms section any more without timeouts on 2 diff. machines.
Please email me directly from your own email address so I can send the
file to you.
