PostScript file creation slow using Adobe 8.0

I have an automated batch process that creates a 33 page pdf file from an Excel worksheet using VBA. We have just purchased a new PC and bought Adobe 8.0 to go with it.

Typically, using our other (lower spec) PC's it takes approximately 9 seconds to create the postscript file, it now takes around 27 seconds using Adobe 8.0. I have timed the other parts of the process (Excel data crunching) and they are quicker using the new PC.

All Adobe settings are the same as our Adobe 7.0 enabled PC's. I changed the Default Page Size setting from millimetres to points which brought creation time down from 36 to 27 seconds, however I cannot find any other reasons for the slow performance.

Has anyone suffered similar performance issues with Adobe 8.0 ?

Ok, please try the Acrobat Windows or Acrobat Macintosh forum. You
aren't actually doing PostScript programming, I think. Good luck,
