Adobe PE14 runs under win 10. Qicktime is not supported under win 10.
Anyway I have installed Quicktime but sometimes PE14 is then not working.
If you close PE14 and start it again, it works for some minutes and then see above.
Is there any solution?
Regards Peter

By PE14, I assume you mean Premiere Elements and not Photoshop Elements.
When you say that sometimes the program is not working, do you mean that it just shuts down or that it won't start? And is this a blank project or do you problems occur when you add MOV files to it?

Yes we are talking about Premiere Elements 14.
The general Question was, how I could run PE without installing quicktime which is not supported under Win 10.
Sometime not working means that using the play button in the workspace, does not have any effect.
Other functions such as exporting a project are working.
So my current workaround is to close PE and start it again.
My system: Win 10 64 bit, intel core i5-8400 CPU 2,80 GHz, 16 GB memory,
I have a couple of drives, PE 14 is installed solely on a Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB and therefore separated from the OS

Regarding Quicktime, you can install it in Windows 10. Some are concerned that it is a security risk. The cause is that Apple no longer updates Quicktime and there may be a security flaw. The flaw is not in the codecs that come with Quicktime, but the Quicktime program itself. Some install it and change the .exe name to prevent it from running. Others, using a choice at installation, install only the support files.
The only reason to install Quicktime is for certain Apple codecs that are in some .mov files. It should not be needed for most other files such as MP4.
Regarding the play button not working. A few others have found that preferences in the Audio Hardware section have caused too much audio processing and slows the computer. Try setting the "Default Input" to "None".

We are coming pretty closeto solve this issue.
Excuse my ignorance, but since I am German speaking, I could not find the "Default Input" in the audio section .
If its not too complicated, do you have a screenshot handy?
Thanks a lot.
