Hello there

I have the problem that when i start Adobe Premier Elements 2018 and put a file into the timeline and click on whatever possible... The Programm kinde of freezes... I So i can't do anything else from there... Adobe had a page whitch said as follows:

1.Close Adobe Premiere Elements

2. Click the Start button at the lower-left corner of the screen and type %appdata%.

3. Go to Adobe > Premiere Elements and rename the 16.0 folder to 16.0.old.

4. Launch Adobe Premiere Elements.

Even though i have the 18th one not the 16th... But i tried both anyway...

The outcome was it just generated a new ordner with 16.0 end... So no change...

Before i enter any file i have full controle about anything until i insert any file... Sometimes i can start editing or open and close some menues, move the file in the timeline or other things... But in the end it stoped allways completly working... I couldn't even close the program normally.. Only with task manager... According to the task manager it's stuck in the RAM but not on the CPU... Even though the CPU droppes to 0.1%...

Running Windows 10Pro on Lenovo P50 with Xeon E3-1535M Prozessor...

This issiue is noticed since last few windows updates...

I completly re installed Premier Elements...

By the way it's allways asking me while starting " Do you want to allow that this app is making some changes to your device...

I couldn't finde a solution for that... and by the way my Adobe Photoshop elements is running perfectly...

I have no idea how to fix that issiue...

Thank you in adwance for helping

Cheers Rapheal

Try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturerā€™s site.

Hello Peru Bob

I had the Nvidia Quadro Version 397.93 installed...

I have a Quadro M200M graphic card...

I down greadet to 397.93, 392.00, 391.89 and 391.74 and none of those worked...

I downloaded these of course from Nvidia home page...

Still the same problem with all of those versions...

And theres still the program asking me if" i want to allow to this app to make changes to my device...

Thank you so far;-)

Cheers Raphael

Try resetting the preferences:

  • To restore default preference settings, hold down Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) while the application is starting. You can release the Alt key or Option key when the splash screen appears.
  • To restore default preference settings and plug-in cache at the same time, hold down Shift-Alt (Windows) or Shift-Option (Mac OS) while the application is starting. Release the Shift-Alt keys or Shift-Option key when the splash screen appears.

That is Windows asking you that, not Premiere Elements.

Sorry about that.  I guess I'm trying to reply on too many forums at once.

Do you have any third party effects or transitions installed?
