im trying to set the aspect ratio settings ..its disabled how do i fix this wont let me upload my footage from my canon camera saying the size width and hieght isnt the correct format when i try to bring it up on the time;ine

"trying to set the aspect ratio settings"  The are fixed to standard video sizes.  What is your footage, where does it come from and how are you starting your project?   Normally the settings are established when you put your first clip on the timeline.  It should be a "typical" clip.  There is a way to force it to one of the standards if that doesn't work.
