My workspace is unrecognizable by horizontal green stripes. How can the error be fixed?

That is probably a graphics drive issue.

What graphics card and what driver number do you have?

Do not count on Windows to be fully up to date when it comes to device drivers
Go to the vendor site to be sure you have an updated driver for your graphic adapter
