Another Year - Another Let down

Wow, what another disappointment in the 2022 Premiere Elements.

Not one reason to update this year.

Wow 2-3 new features - Adobe should be embarrassed.

Again Premiere Elements falls behind to Power Director and Videostudio.

Have they given up on it?

Too bad because I REALLY LOVE the program.

Please change my mind on why would I want to go from 2021 to 2022?

Thanks

Nope. The only reason to upgrade is if there's a reason to upgrade.

Thanks Steve

I ALWAYS hope there is a reason to throw more money to Adobe, but the 2022 update was very uninspired.

At least the 2021 version added the Reduce Noise Effect and that alone was enough for me to spend money to

get the 2021 version. But this year....

How about WHITE BALANCE - why is there no White balance?

Also GeFore 1080 support would be nice.

I agree, an eye dropper "professional" style white balance control would be nice.  But, there is a temperature slider that manually will adjust white balance if it is wrong from the camera.

Don't know about the GeForce 1080, but the GPU I have is supported.  Yet, for the typical relatively short "home" videos I do, I see little difference in actual rendering or output performance.   On edit:  The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 is listed as supported on this page:  https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/using/gpu-acceleration.html#recommended_cards

The two I want would be multi camera support and audio syncronization.  Wanting those bumps me to being a candidate for Premier Pro.

I would Buy Premiere Pro in a SECOND if I could own it like CS6 - I refuse to RENT any software. I know I am not alone on that.

As for the white Balance the Temperature sliders is far from a REAL white balance pointer.

Thank you

You are right that you are not alone on your dislike of software subscriptions.   Business journals suggest that there are about 15 million Adobe subscribers that disagree!   Too many need or prefer monthly expense to periodic update investments.

Again, you are right that a Temperature slider is different than a pointer.  My experience with a few consumer grade cameras that shoot video is that the camera white balance is very good most of the time.   I've rarely needed a white balance pointer.  It would probably be different in a profession production environment.

I updated my post above the GTX 1080 is on the supported GPU list.  It is not clear, but I suspect it applies to the 2022 version.

I hope you find video editing software that has everything you like and want.

15 Million - WOW - I had no idea.

I do REAL LOVE the Premire Elements and have over 1000 Videos on Youtube that are mostly edited with it.

I must just be really cheap since my YouTube include can pay for all the Adobe programs.

BUT I love the how effiecent I can edit in Premiere Elements.

Thanks

We have four YouTube channels - this is our main one where everything is pretty much filmed on a Panasonic 4K HC-WXF1 or a Sony FDR AX700 (Yes, I only use Video cameras) and then edited with Premiere Elements:

If you put your work on social media, you should be able to use the new aspect ratio management and reframing tools.   If you shoot in HD with a camcorder or DSLR for TV viewing maybe not.  If you like to attach videos to email, the new compression tool should make that easier.

What was on your wish list for the new release?

  • Extending the background is cool... I hate doing fake workarounds.
  • Warping photos is neat!
  • Moving overlays is totally my thing!

Anyway.. peace, man.

Not like in Photoshop.  But, the new aspect ratio and auto-reframe tools should help to get rid of the "black bar" challenge.

I’m very happy about new features of AD2022 because it means that I can save this year on the upgrade and spend my money elsewhere.

It is sad that Adobe hasn’t fixed many small, but annoying issues which are still present in AP2021
