I've been using APE 17 for a while and on my old computer I had no issues with the aspect ratio as everything was as it should be.
Since I've moved to another computer and reintalled APE 17 I've started to notice that no matter what video I put into the project, the aspect ratio stays at a constant 1920x1080 which leaves my videos with blank space on the sides of them. To my understanding APE is supposed to change the aspect ratio according to the videos frame size, but this doesn't seem to be happening even if I start a completely new project.
Is there anything I'm possibly missing as to why this is happening? Or am I misunderstanding how this whole thing should work?
First image shows the settings in APE 17 while second image shows the properties of the test clip I'm using.

Yes it does for standard video sizes.
Elements does not support 2560x1600: its not a standard size.
In version 17, only 720x480 standard resolution video comes in 4:3 video -- and then you can only output 4:3 video as certain formats. HD and 4K video are only available as 16:9.
The current version of the program (version 2022) offers many more aspect ratios.

Ah that explains it. I thought my old computer screen resolution wasn't standard in size and the new one was closer to being standard. Guess that means I have to deal with black bars all the time because even trying to set my output in the recording to standard gives the same results.

2022 does not support 2560x1600 either. No way to use Stabilize.
