I went to general settings/apps, scrolled down for required app (my choice was media player) opened it up and made it my default player. I hope this helps someone else.

Like John, I'm not sure I understand you question.   You should be able access MP3, WAV, MP4 and other video useful files from the Add Media page.  Can you explain more about what you are trying to do?
