Audio track visually out of sync with video

My audio and video play in sync but the audio track is sudenly 6 min 57 sec out of sync at 7 minutes into the video (the waveform does not match video). It appears the audio track waveform starts over at about the 7 minute mark but it does not represent the actual audio. I copied a section of this visually repeated audio and pasted in the narration track at the beginning of my video where the wave form matches the Audio 1 track and it is completely different audio.

I have restarted Premiere and restarted computer. Started a new project and get he same result.

This could be related to the audio and video codecs. If so, this is a possible solution.

I'm not sure I explained the problem fully. The video and audio play in sync all the way through to the end. Also when I export the video to an MP4 file. The audio is only visually out of sync after the 7 minute mark when I watch the waveform and watch the video play in Premiere.

It's strange that you say the vidoe goes out of sync in the middle but not at either the beginning or end.

There is not immediately obviously wrong with the video file, based on the MediaInfo report.  Although the MP42 codec does sometimes cause problems.

Is there an orange line on the timeline above this video clip or is it yellow? If it is orange, press Enter to render the timeline and see if that resolves your issue.

If not, we may need to convert the file to a more traditional MP4 using Handbrake, which I'll describe if rendering the timeline doesn't fix the problem.

The line is orange so did the render as you suggested. But I had added cuts in the video for editing and it only rendered one section. The render did not make any difference tho. I will have new video to work with this Sunday. Let's wait and see how that one works. FYI, these are about 60 min+ church service videos.

You don't say what device recorded the video, but that could affect the specs.

Open one of your church videos in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo set View to Text and then copy the text of this report and paste it to this forum. This may tell us something about the specs of this file and why it's behaving the way it is.

Did that above. The first MdeaInfo data is the problem file from 10/22. The second is from 10/15. The date is in the file name.

The codecs for audio and video listed are both problematic. Converting the video to standard MP4s using the free download Handbrake would resolve your problem. However, that's a lot of work for such long videos. It might be worth using a different video program (like CyberLink PowerDirector) that may better be able to handle these codecs. But that's up to you, but I think this video as is will continue to give you issues in Premiere Elements.

If you want to try to convert the files with Handbrake, here's my tutorial on the specs to use.
