Can a exported file be reused with more clips and effects?

Thank you Shivangi!  I did have one more question.  After I've saved a project to an mp4 file, can I edit it to add more clips (also mp4 files)?  I was going to edit the prel file and resave it, but a couple of the files didn't load.  Thanks again for your help.

Holly

You can start a new project and use your MP4 as a source.  But, that is not the same as editing an existing  project.

Hi Holly,

I have branched this discussion to a different thread as the question is different. It will be easier for our experts to help you.

After I've saved a project to an mp4 file, can I edit it to add more clips (also mp4 files)?

The answer is yes. You can reimport it to a new project and use it as source as @whsprague mentioned.

I was going to edit the prel file and resave it, but a couple of the files didn't load.

  • Are you talking about the new .mp4 files that you wish to add?
  • What happens when you try to add the files? Do you get any error?

Here's a suggestion, change the media file location on your computer and then try to load them. Let me know if it brings any change.

Thanks,

Shivangi
