I have deleted several hundred clips from a project timeline leaving around 10% of the original clips in the timeline. Is there a quick way to delete the unused assets to save disk space? I know Pro can do it but it seems to be missing in Elements 15.

You might try File > Archive.  One option keeps the project and only the used clips in another location.  Try it and test it.  Then, if it is working, you can delete everything in the original project.   ( I have not done this myself so am not completely sure how well it works.)
