Computer Running Strangely Since Using Adobe Premiere Elements 2020 Video Editing Software

Hi, I've recently been using the free trial of Adobe Premiere Elements 2020 to do some video editing. I've been experiencing some issues with the software. My computer seems to run slower when I've opened up the software (The software itself seems to take a while to open.), the computer makes a noise as if it is having to work harder to do things and when I want to watch my video in full screen mode the video doesn't play properly. I'm hoping this will disappear after some time but I'm just wondering if there is something I can do to resolve these issues please. For your information, I'm using a MacBook Pro 13-inch early 2011 with a macOS High Sierra version 10.13.6; a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 processor; a 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory; internal startup disk and Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB graphics.

What you are hearing is the program setting up your Organizer catalog. It's locating and analyzing all of the media on your computer. Once it's finished building your catalog (usually within a day or two -- although you're on a laptop so it may take longer since it can only work when you're computer is actually running).

 

As you've got a slower computer, you can turn off these processes if you'd like. Open the Organizer from the home screen then, in the Organizer's preferences, on the Media-Ana

The program may still run your system a bit until it's built a basic catalog of your media files, so how long it runs depends on how many photos and videos you have on your hard drive. But if you leave your laptop running and walk away from it for an hour or two, it will build out your catalog and quiet down. If you later decide you want it to auto-analyze your media files (which can help you when you're searching for a specific photo or video) you can re-check those preferences.

Hi Steve, thanks for that. I've had a go at that. I've just tried to watch
my video in full screen mode on the video editor and the video still is
disjointed (The video basically doesn't run smoothly.). I even just
attempted playing it in editor mode and it does the same thing. Any advice?

Hi again Steve. I resolved the issue regarding the video not working
smoothly. I didn't know all I had to do was press the rendering button.

Hi Steve, I've encountered the same issue again (Things running slower and occasional noise by the computer.). I'm guessing then that the organizer scanning isn't a one-off? So do I just leave the computer running everytime this occurs?
