Hey everyone,
Since adobe customer service refuse to help me with this, I was hoping someone here could help. I can't do anything on Premiere Elements 2021. It freezes and crashes every time I click elements organizer, attempt to add media, and make edits. It also doesn't let me use playback at all. The play button does not work. My computer is brand new and has plenty of hardware to support these simple actions. Thanks in advance.

Your processor is NOT the 1080ti, that is a video adapter
Do you actually have TWO nvidia cards?

You should not have problems with that hardware... see next idea
Do not count on Windows to be fully up to date when it comes to device drivers
Go to the vendor site to be sure you have an updated driver for your graphic adapter
nVidia Driver Downloads https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
-for all Adobe programs use the STUDIO driver, not the GAMING driver
-To achieve the highest level of reliability, Studio Drivers undergo extensive
-testing against multi-app creator workflows and multiple revisions of the top
-creative applications from Adobe to Autodesk and beyond

I updated all my drivers, both studio and other and the problem persists.

If I understand right, you have a brand new computer and installed two year old software. Would you describe how you installed it? I'm guessing something is missing but don't know what it might be. Are there any error messages when it crashes?

Hey Bill,
There are no error codes. The whole program freezes and I have to force quit it every time. It was working just fine for me 2 days ago and now it's useless. I bought it last year and installed it this year. It came directly from the adobe download link.
Thanks.

This may seem odd, but check the Audio Hardware settings in Preferences. There have been times that audio processing gets overloaded and brings the program to a slow crawl. Try setting Default Input to No Input.
It appears that routine windows updates may actually change that setting when you aren't looking!
