Create Blu Ray Disk with Release 18

New Here ,
Oct 11, 2017 Oct 11, 2017

I just purchased elements 18 and found out I can't create a blu ray disc.  Is there a method that I can use to create a Blu Ray?

Although you can create a Custom output to save your movie as a BluRay movie with no menus and you can burn that to a disc, the 2018 version includes no tools for creating BluRay discs with menus.

This is a quote from Steve Grisetti from here:

Exporting to Blue ray on premiere Elements 2018

In short: no.

You can export to Bluray ready file but you cannot author to disk.

If you load up this file in an older version of Elements you can make a disk but the file gets encoded twice.

Wow. I'm glad I discovered this before I purchased 2018. Adobe just lost me as a customer. I would think this would be vital information to publish publicly along with all the "great new features".  Many other prospective buyers beside myself probably can't believe you'd remove a feature like this.

I've abandon Blu-Ray production.

Blu-Ray burners are not that common.  However, it was a good way to send a friend a HD video a few years ago.  If you had very many friends, it was cumbersome.   And, at about a buck a piece, it is not the cheapest way to have your friends watch your productions.

It is now far easier to use services like Vimeo and file sharing systems like DropBox.   A lot more of your friends and relatives can watch your work with a lot less fuss.   And, as we drift towards 4K, Blu-Ray is fading in usefulness.

I won't miss Blu-Ray production at all!

Je pense aussi abandonner Première Élément 2018 à moins que...Adobe ne révise sa position

Unfortunately I bought PE2018 without knowing of this introduced limitation, I do not recall seeing anything that said this feature was no longer available.  Have just spent several days getting my first project on PE2018 to first draft on a re writable BD disk to be confronted with no such option.  It appears I can't just open my PE14 and burn there either.  Apparently not to be backwardly compatible.  Looks like start again or render to file, open in PE14, add menus and render again!

Am going to explore the option of getting a refund, this is of no use to me.

Yes, within 30 days.  Am at 35 days unfortunately.  Very much like what has been done with Photo and Prem Elements 2018 except for the removal of bluray production, which breaks about 50% of my output.  Will switch to Cyberlink.

You can try to contact Adobe via chat:

Contact Customer Care

They might allow a refund.  No harm in trying.
