I'm not clear what you're asking, but you may have a corrupted AVI codec.

You also don't say what operating system you are using.

But, if you are using Windows 10, try going to C/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Premiere Elements 15/Plug-ins/Common and renaming ExporterAVI.prm to ExporterAVI.old and then relaunch the program.

Hello Steve .

thank's a lot for helpiing . I'm using win 10 64 bit . Your hint was sucessful. I've done  like yo wrote....

When launching  Elements 15 with renamed  to XXX.old Element 15 ist starting better and faster exporterAVI.prm is'nt shown again.

But when I look  again in ......../Plug-ins/Common, there is again exportAVI.prm not old.

Elements 15 is still running well ...but my question is :

What did I change with this renaming, what's the effect in Elements 15 ?

May there be any disadvantages after renaming to "old"

I' m not a PC -Speci so your answer mustn't be detailed. I only like to understand what I've done

Thank you again Steve..

Best Greetings from Cologne /Germany

Heinz-Jürgen

I have the same issue, I am using Windows 10 on PC.
I renamed the ExporterAVI file to .old, but it still gets stuck.

The program generated a new ExportAVI. So, if the program is working now, it's been fixed.

You can even delete the old one if you want -- but it's not necessary.

Guys, I just formatted my computer. I installed Adobe Creative Cloud. I installed After Effects, Premiere, Encoder. All applications worked flawlessly. But after installing Matrox Codec, After Effects, Premiere and Encoder did not work. I deleted the Matrox Codec. Then I tried again Applications worked. I tried it with Lagarith Codec worked without any problems. My advice Clean the codecs before formatting. In this way, ExporterAVI.prm, 86 :: 1 and 39 :: 0 problems were solved. Enjoy.

Matrox codec is know to cause issues sometimes.

But on a side note this is the Elements forum.

Steve Grisseti.

I wanted to just say a big Thank You to you...I followed your guide below on corrupted AVI Codec.

It worked immediately. So Thank you very very much..

I have been going backwards and forwards with the Adobe Support Team FOR 3 WEEKS and none of them had a clue...In my opinion they are absolutely useless and should not be paid for what they do...

I wish you all the best...

Mukesh.
