Frame size Premiere Elements

New Here ,
Feb 28, 2023 Feb 28, 2023

Hello,

When I import my pictures, although the project settings are 1920X1080, PE converts them to 1620X1080;

The pictures are taken by my Nikon which is set to 6000X4000 ( which can be converted to 1920X1280 at 3.125).

The result is that I get a black line on both sides of the picture; Obviously, I also get these black lines when I export them to see them on a TV.

What am I doing wrong???

Thank you for your help.

Louis

How do you know your project has changed to 1620x1080?

Please show screenshots project settings and timeline with picture showing.

Read up on "Default Scale to Frame Size" in General Preferences.  You can also see "Scale to Frame Size" under "Clip" in the menu you get by right clicking it on the timeline.

It may still not work.  In that case, look for Scale under Motion in the Applied Effects panel.

Many prefer to crop their still photos to project settings in a photo editor believing that the quality is better.

If the image is not the same as the project setting (odd ratio) then dont use (default) Scale to Framesize.
