How to I Import movies to PC from an iMac (iMovie 09)

Adobe Premiere Elements 11 on my PC does not recognize the DV file (iMovie event files) from iMovie 09 created on a Mac.        What is the best way and best export format to convert the Mac iMovie events to files for editing on a PC with Adobe Premiere Elements 11?      I have tons of these iMovie events, many of which are broken into small clips, so a streamlined way to do it would be preferred.

What do you mean when you say " the DV file (iMovie event files) from iMovie 09"?

What model of camcorder is this video from and what connection did you use to get the video from your camcorder to your computer?

Video captured by iMovie from a miniDV camcorder over a FireWire connection will edit in Premiere Elements. But I'm not sure if that's what you're describing or not.
