I use PE14 and when I drop videos in the sound no longer plays

I use PE14 and when I drop videos in the sound no longer plays.  I know my sound is working when I play youtube, but when I drop an MP4 into my Premier Elements I get no sound now.  Is it because I have an old version?

Mac or Windows and exactly which version of the operating system?

What has changed since the sound last worked?

If Windows, have you allowed the system to do an update?

Check the Audio Hardware Preferences. Default Audio Input should be set to No Input.
