Because Adobe Premiere Elements was working very badly, I bought a new laptop, Samsung Pro, last week for over 2000 euros.
With a 954GB disk (C), memory 16GB, processor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1360P, and still it is a big drama.
I don't want to switch to Apple, but I think Adobe is unsuitable for Windows laptops. If this is true, then Adobe should offer its standalone video-editing applications for sale only for Apple.
Does anyone else have this experience too, and maybe a tip? When I use Adobe Premiere, even with an uploaded 130-second video: it's not doable. No picture, jerky picture, sometimes picture. Crash reports.. 10 minutes ago my whole laptop went black. When using, trying to do so, Adobe Premiere elements 2024, I turn off all other programmes on my laptop. The thought 'I need to quickly edit a video' seems impossible to execute. I find that particularly unfortunate. I hope that someone can help me, I would be very gratefull. Kind regards, Saskia Friso

I assume you mean version 2024.
It should work on that laptop with no problems, assuming you're editing 1920x1080 camcorder or phone video. Though I wouldn't recommend using it on a small-screen laptop. It needs at least a 1280x1024 monitor to fit in all its interface.

First, do you mean 2014 or 2024?
Second, Do not count on Windows to be fully up to date when it comes to device drivers
Go to the vendor site to be sure you have an updated driver for your graphic adapter
.
nVidia Driver Downloads https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
-for all Adobe programs use the STUDIO driver, not the GAMING driver
-To achieve the highest level of reliability, Studio Drivers undergo extensive
-testing against multi-app creator workflows and multiple revisions of the top
-creative applications from Adobe to Autodesk and beyond
.
If you have a laptop you MAY also need to check for a laptop specific nVidia driver
-SOME laptops require an approved driver from the laptop company, not nVidia

Saskia,
I've been using the current version of Premiere Elements each year for the last several and always on a laptop. I have had none of the drama that you listed.
When issues like yours have come up on this forum the usual causes include graphics driver issues, various incorrect settings, odd source video codecs, corrupted files or hardware failures. Premiere Elements is a mass market product. If failures such as yours were universal, it would evaporate from the market.
In addition to this forum, Adobe provides money back guarantees and online trouble shooting where Adobe techs remotely connect to your computer. Your issue is solvable.

Hello, thank you so much for your time. Indeed I use 2024. I have read your answers. Finaly, I have given in to the advantages of apple versus windows and bougth a macbookpro. Only opening the first videos: it was such a relief! The difference is impressive. Now I can work like I want to and create videos without my laptop crashing or having to wait for the video to start moving.

Certainly a Mac product is good. I have to add that I've never had one and have never had issues with Premiere Elements on the several Windows computers I've owned since I started with Version 9 fifteen years ago.
