I highlighted a clip --- hit Control H to rename the clip, but nothing happens. What might I be doing wrong?
PrE 2023. I highlighted a clip on the timeline and pressed CTRL+H and nothing happened. I went to the Keyboard Customization page and deleted the CTRL+H making in blank. Then I added it back in and pressed OK. Now it works!

Thank you. Can you help me understand how this applies to my question? I haven't changed default settings, so shouldn't Control H launch the Rename Popup?

No, sadly. Using Control G --- also in the edit menu --- does work to group clips, so it's not a universal keyboard shortcut issue. Just the Renaming. Damn!

Fantastic. I went to the edit menu, selected keyboard customization, selected Rename... then deleted it. When I reopened the keyboard customization again, Rename...was already back with Control H. But now it works. Thanks so much!!!

You are very welcome. I had fun trying to figure it out.
