I would like to help but am not understanding how you are setting the time to 10 seconds for a photo.  Can you post a screen shot?

What is the pixel size of your photos?  If too large, that can happen.

You also may need to update or roll back your video driver.

There are two ways I know of to set the display time of a photo, maybe more.  Can you help me by explaining how you are setting the display time for each photo?

Are you working in Organizer or making a video on a timeline in Premier Elements?  I'm very confused, but would still like to try and help.

In Edit > Preferences > General,  there is a setting for the "Still Image Default Duration".  It is in frames.  If your project is set at 30 frames per second and this is set at 150, each photo will display for 5 seconds.

How are you setting up the project and what are the project settings?

I just looked for some YouTube training videos.  I found some that seem to describe what you are doing.  They are using Photoshop Elements, not Premier Elements.

Would you please verify what you are using to make your slideshow?

Thanks.

I'm sorry, but I am too confused to help.  I can't figure out what is going on.  Perhaps someone else can.
