Moved Files...Ugh

Explorer ,
Aug 11, 2018 Aug 11, 2018

I committed the unforgivable sin of moving some files after I had created my project...and now I can't edit it.  Other than starting from scratch, is there any way to salvage all my hours of work editing the clips, audio, etc...????

And I wish I could remember what the file was before, but I can't.

Are all of these moved files in the same directory folder? If so, easy to fix.

When you next open your project, the program will ask you to locate one of your missing files. Browse to it and click Open. When you do, the program will see that all of the other missing files are there and will automatically relink to them. Save your project and you're set.

On the other hand, if you've moved your media files to spots all over your computer, the process is the same -- except that you'll need to browse to and link to each manually.

You're trying to import the .prel project file. You don't import project files. You open them using File/Open.

You import media files -- your video, your photos, your music, etc.

If you look up in the upper left hand corner of this panel you can see a message that says "Where is Voice2.wav?" That's the file you're trying to locate.
