MY PROJECT KEEPS SKIPPING WHILE USING ADOBE PREMIER ELEMENT 14

Hello,

I have been using Adobe Premiere Element 14 for almost 2 years now. And now, after I have spent multiple hours working on many different projects on my laptop, HP windows 7 Hewlett-Packard. As I worked on my projects, the edits keep on working, then pausing, working, then pausing. This has become a trend. This also happens when I export a film for a movie.

Please contact me back as soon as possible so somebody can help me fix this issue.

Michel,

I don't know your working procedures or much about your computer.   My suggestion is that, over time, various things have been added to your computer that "run in the background".  Virus programs are an example and can be aggressive at dominating the CPU and using up memory.  Consider using Windows tools like the Resource Monitor to identify what your computer is working on while you are trying to edit videos.

My son's family bought a high end laptop that can serve as an example.  After a year of shared use, they independently added virus protection programs thinking they were helping each other.   It ran so slowly they started shopping for another!  Using the operating system tools I was able to see THREE anti virus programs running leaving little for the regular work. 

As a user to user forum, the focus here is on the techniques and tools within Premiere Elements.  It is beyond the scope of the forum to trouble shoot computer, operating system and hardware issue.
