Have attempted PE 2024 on an M1 iMac and an Intel MacBook Pro both running Sonoma. In both cases there is no audio during playback. Audio-only clips play fine outside of PE 2024 and if I export my project the audio plays fine using the resulting MP4. Only playback within PE doesn't work. I've tried all the audio setting combinations (not a lot available with CoreAudio) with no success. Very frustrating; I was able to complete project on my old failing Windows machine with PE 2019, but very undesirable since I just spent $150 to run latest version on my much faster iMac.

Make sure Default Input in the Audio Hardware in the Preferences is set to No Input.

Thank you, but that doesn't work either. I had tried that before after some google hits and tried again at your suggestion. I'm stumped as no other audio playback fails in any other of my installed applications.

I am having the same issue. I regularly use Premiere for work but since updating to Sonoma, anything involving audio does not work in Premiere 2024 on my 2021 Mac Book Pro. I've found a work around by re-installing Premiere 2023 but this is still probalematic as Premiere won't back-save any previous 2024 project file. Very frustrating! I'm hoping either an Adobe or Mac OS update will fix soon. Keen to hear if anyone else has had this issue?

*UPDATE* I've managed to completely fix the issue by uninstalling Premiere 2024 and doing a complete reinstall.
