Hi there,
I have Adobe Premiere and Photoshop Elements 2020. I am having issues while creating Video project using Adobe PRemiere. I have seen this issue intermittently since 2019 (when I got this new version upgrade along with Photoshop), however frequency has increased and now it is almost impossible for me to edit video clip.
There is no error - it just stop responding. Click on Play button nothing happens, or video is stuck on a snapshot and only audio moves, but does not let you save anything. Is this a known issue or what I can do to fix this. I am not able to use the tool because of this. Thanks in advance.
Version: Adobe Premiere Elements 2020 Version 18.0 (20201207.Daily,2234367

Do not count on Windows to be fully up to date when it comes to device drivers
Go to the vendor site to be sure you have an updated driver for your graphic adapter
nVidia Driver Downloads http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
-for Premiere Pro and MAYBE Premiere Elements use the STUDIO driver, not the GAMING driver
-such as (this MAY not be the latest) https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/results/170344/
If you have a laptop you MAY also need to check for a laptop specific nVidia driver
ATI Driver https://www.amd.com/en/support
Intel https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/211969/Intel-HD-Graphics-Family
There are also intermittent reports that the newest driver is not always the best driver due to driver bugs or compatibility issues, so you MAY need to try an earlier driver version

Thanks, John for your reply. This might be the issue - I have not updated any device drivers, but sorry 😞 not sure how to know which drivers I need to install - do you have any idea if that information is available (which device driver- I need to update) on Adobe site? Sorry for the trouble but thought Windows will update it so never updated any specific device. Thanks

Adobe has nothing to do with updating your device drivers... you do that by knowing what is inside your computer and then going to the appropriate vendor site to do the update
click the 'window pane' in the lower left corner
click the 'gear' aka settings on the left in the new screen
click system in the new screen
click about on the left
click device manager on the right
click display adapters

Also which processor do you have?
What device created your video and what is its resolution and format?

Hoping to add to John's and Steve's posts, there is another possibility. If the Audio Hardware settings are 'off' the computer can get bogged down in audio processing and bring editing to a slow crawl. Check to see if in Settings, Audio Hardware that the default input is set at No Input. It might help.

Then, can you change it? It might make a difference. If not, follow Steve's advice.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your reply. I have Intel Core i7. I have combination of iPhone 11 video and Panasonic handycam (HC v500).

Which Intel i7 do you have?
There's also a huge difference between the video from an iPhone and the video from an AVCHD camcorder. So let's just concentrate on one source for now.
Open a new project. Add only AVCHD footage from your Panasonic camcorder to it. Does the program still not play the file?
